USPS Multi-Factor Authentication and How do I Apply

Multi-Factor Authentication:

You can optionally add another layer of security to your account by requiring a one-time passcode in addition to your password each time you sign in to USPS.com. Activating the Multi-Factor Authentication Service involves a two-step process.

1) Validating your profile email address and/or mobile phone number.

2) Activating your USPS.com account for functionality multi-factor authentication.

When multi-factor authentication is enabled on your USPS.com account, you’ll have the option to choose how you’d like to receive your one-time security code the next time you sign in to USPS.com (if both addresses are available) only email is authenticated email and mobile number).

How do I verify my email address?

  • To verify your email address: Sign in to your USPS online account.
  • Click the “My Profile” link in the login section of the page.
  • Click the “Options” link in the left menu.
  • Click the “Validation Email” box.
  • Click the “Verify your e-mail” button.
  • Go to your mailbox, open the email from [email protected], follow the instructions and click the “Click here to complete your email verification” link.

How do I authenticate my phone?

To verify your mobile device:

  • Sign in to your USPS online account.
  • Click the “My Profile” link in the login section of the page.
  • Click the “Options” link in the left menu.
  • Click the “Account Recovery” or “Multi-Factor Authentication” box.
  • Verify or enter your mobile number and click “Verify Mobile” button.
  • Enter the verification code just texted to your mobile device.
  • Click the “Test” button.

How do I apply for Multi-Factor Authentication?

  • To enable multi-factor authentication on your USPS.com account.
  • Sign in to your USPS online account.
  • Click the “My Profile” link in the login section of the page.
  • Click the “Options” link in the left menu.
  • Click the “Multi-Factor Authentication” box.
  • Verify your verified email address and/or mobile phone number.
  • Check the box to enable multi-factor authentication the next time you sign in to USPS.com.
